Homer Qaspeq Class

Homer Qaspeq Class was a huge success! I had 9 gals taking my class and over the sewathon weekend 15 qaspeqs were made 🙂

I had a quick turn around from my Bethel trip I had one day to recoup, wash laundry, repack my bags and hit the road for Homer. Mac and I had a wonderful weekend in Homer with Christina and the beautiful weather.

Quyana Homer Campus for hosting me to teach a qaspeq classes. I am finally resting in Arizona in the hot, hot sun. And I will be back on the road shortly to Kotzebue, Seldovia in November and Ketchikan, Bethel and possibly Wasilla in December. And January I will be Bethel bound for the Nursing program 🙂 I look forward to this next chapter in my life and cant wait to zoom thru the next couple years of the Associates program and I can continue on with the bridge program.

I will be posting more photos of my past classes 🙂 Stay Tuned!

Qaspeq Class & May Fun!

My qaspeq class at Bearly Threaded Quilting Too was ahhhmazing! There was two gals Barbara and Nikki and it was wonderful! They both made beautiful qaspeqs! And I got to sew and make a couple qaspeqs for my amazingly patient customers 🙂

I love how Alaska is such a small world! I used to work for Nikki’s son Luke in Bethel over 10 years ago. And she knew alot of people from back home 🙂

And! I finally busted out Janome Memory Craft 500E Embrodiery machine and put it to good use! I cant believe it took me this long to brave it and try it out! Now all I want to do is embroider 🙂

Its going to be another busy week I have quite a few orders to fill and need to gather more spruce tips and dandelion flowers before its too late!

Hope you have a wonderful week! IMG_2264

April Qaspeq Class & Fun Stuff

Check out all the fun stuff!

🙂

I just returned to my other home from an amazing weekend  in Bethel! 🙂

It was a wonderful qaspeq class with 13 students and almost everyone made 2 qaspeqs and I had a beginner student who made 7 qaspeqs!

It was such a refreshing trip home. I got to visit with my stinker nieces, steam with my girlfriends, get some snuggles with Owen, and visit with some of my favorite elders.

It is always a whirlwind trip jam packed with goodies! I was so thrilled with all my students and their beautiful qaspeqs! Many of them are ready to make more and their love for sewing sparked over the weekend!

And before class I got to do some fun sewing in and made a super duper cute BB Bag.

Summer is in the air and I am getting excited for a new kind of summer in my new home. I hope to get back on the fish skin sewing train and use up my beautiful halibut, snapper and salmon just marinating in alcohol in my fridge. They are anxiously waiting to be sewn 🙂

I failed to mention I made my awesome work cutting/fabric storage area in my Kenai Construction Academy! Check me out! I am trying my hand at everything so I can someday be a super duper handywoman.

Happy Monday!
